Entertainers – Singers, Dancers and More

This year, AbbyFest will feature a mix of entertainment from across our community highlighted by the Fraser Valley Music Awards. This show within a show will bring the very best in music from across the Fraser Valley to the Festival where each award recipient will perform and receive their award. Performances will be spread throughout the day right alongside local acts that feature dancing, music, martial arts demonstrations, and the UFV Cultural Fashion Show.

If you’ve would like to perform for 20 to 45 minutes at the Festival, we are accepting applications for a very limited number of spots now.

We apologize, but your application does not automatically guarantee you a spot in our lineup.

We simply can’t say yes to everyone. Note that you will be asked to provide your required equipment and we will also ask you to provide any backing music that you will need for your performance in advance.

You may NOT bring your CD or sound file on the day of the Festival. If you aren’t able to provide this in advance, please don’t apply.

Also, please note that there will be no rehearsal time provided. We will setup the stage for you and our sound technicians are professionals you can rely on. We want you to look and sound great, but we ask that you be prepared for your performance.

Fashion Show

Highlighting your heritage in a fashionable way – The UFV Fashion Show

UFV highlights the contributions of people from a wide variety of cultures and backgrounds. Our celebration of diversity features sociocultural displays, arts and crafts, parades, dances, fashions shows, ethnic foods and entertainment.

Fashion is the most practical form of artistic expression. In celebration of Abbotsford’s amazing diversity, a fashion show is being organized to show case ethnic groups in their native dress. Providing a runway of vibrant participants, we intend to etch visions of color and form that our audience will not soon forget.

UFV takes the opportunity to showcase your cultural background in the form of presenting your brand of culture through a Fashion Show. Our MC will provide live commentary on each ethnic group, their distinct attire, purpose and function of their garments and how this particular piece fits into their lifestyle.

The Fashion Show is conducted by UFV, the University of the Fraser Valley.

Kids, Youth & Students

The Abbotsford Multicultural Festival will be a completely family friendly environment for all. Aside from the multitude of activities and entertainment geared to all ages, there will be a variety of activities for young people. These activities include various craft activity booths, face painting, a bouncy castle, dancing, and MUCH more!

The Festival will have a wide variety of things to do and allow young people to interact with other young people and other members of the community.
